I spent the entire 4th of July weekend in my editing suite/sleeping quarters, editing the film. With coffee and sugar free energy drinks as my fuel…when my liver or kidney starts acting up I’ll know why! My goal for today (July 6th) was to have the first 20 minutes of the film rough cut, but I barely reached the 10 minute mark because I’m constantly editing and re-editing parts that look acceptable at first, then when I come back from a break I find something else to change…Not so much indecisiveness because it is what I want to use for that part, I just find a better way to present it.

The music plays a huge part in the pacing of each segment. So for the first 7-8 minutes it seems fast because of the music I chose and the style of edits I used, they dictate the moderate pace. That’s the point really for the beginning anyway…I need to capture the audiences attention before I can begin to tell the story.

All in all, not bad for a day’s work. I’ll keep it simple on this first post since I’m new to the blogging game. I can see how therapeutic this blogging thing can be, just you and the computer releasing thoughts about your day. Back at it tomorrow..Knowing me, I’ll probably watch what I worked on today and re-edit that stuff for a couple of hours before I move forward. All good though, I’m trying to catch every fine detail. That’s something I can truly say I have more than enough patience for, a high degree of attention to detail. Good thing because its a must in video editing.  – ReyRonin
