Began editing the last segment for Silence Is Sound earlier this week. Got the marketing and promotions team jump started as well. Ekene Agwuenu from http://keepingmusicalive.blogspot.com/ is heading up the sales and sponsorship for Silence Is Sound and has developed a new style of sponsorship kit that I have never seen done before in terms of pushing an independent film…Its a new look and I appreciate the vision.
So as the rough cut slowly takes form I’m beginning to think about the outlets that will play host for the film. This is where our earlier research is going to come into play. The demographics, theme of the film, and what avenues are open for dispensing. Its not easy being an independent filmmaker just because of the financial burden a project like this carries. But there are also a lot of choices too, so that makes it even more complicated. For example, which film festivals do we jump into, what products are we going to sell, who do we want to sponsor the film, “why is the sky blue and why is water wet” – Ghostface …all that shit!!
Here’s the Official Silence Is Sound poster….

Designed by Justin Gilbert for Rusticren Media. Now we need to get this printed up. Stickers, flyers, and soundtrack are all in the production queue… Shit’s getting busy around here!! Stay tuned. – M. Reyes
